Every October, the Hermosa Festival--- the most grandiose, celebrated and extravagant festival of the people of Zamboanga--- showcases everything good about Zamboanga and its people. It is the most awaited event in the region, where everyone anticipates the fantastic beats, street parties, agricultural fairs, fireworks, cultural performances, Chavacano song concerts, fashion shows, beauty pageants and dance competitions. Known as the "City of Flowers," makes the title true to its name because of the beauty, prosperity and passion their people possess. These are just some of the awesome events that I want to witness in this grand celebration of unity and peace. I wish to see with my very eyes this very special annual gathering that brings the people together and has amazed tourists, both local and international.
The unifying cultural and historical symbol of the Our Lady of the Pilar Nuestra Senora del Pilar de Zaragosa has given Zamboanga inspiration and zeal throughout the years. I want to be part of this amazing part of their history, as well as watch the famous and proudly Filipino Vintas in the Regatta De Zamboanga. It must be amazing to see those colorful sails that has filled the pages of my school books. Seeing the highly Hispanic and Moro heritage and tradition of the province will be a truly memorable trip, something I will never forget.
It would be a dream come true to come to Zamboanga, and I would like to share this colorful and fun-filled experience with my favorite travel buddy, my husband, E. We have always been travel enthusiasts, and have never been to Mindanao. This will be an awesome treat for his 30th birthday.
