Krispy Kreme opens in Gateway Araneta

Out of sheer greed I decided to go to Krispy Kreme Gateway Araneta's grand opening. It's not like me to be fanatical of something (well, not since Harry Potter 2) and waste about 7 hours of my precious time for donuts, I mean that's just plain useless. So there I was, standing in line, wondering what I'm doing there, getting incessant calls from my husband urging me to quit the line and come home. Ironically, his urgings made me want to stay more and tell myself: "No Quitting!!!" And the Krispy Kreme guy who was giving away the paper hats said "You never know what surprises we have in store for those who patiently waited in line," made me ever so hopeful. Since I was tired (just got off my night job), I took the opportunity to do a little camwhoring.

They gave away a month's supply (4 dozens) the first 200 customers, and I was at around 230... oh well, tough luck. And after 7 hrs, all I got was a little key chain. So much for my unwanted sun-bathing. The lucky (or should I say crazy) 1st customer who got the1 year supply of Krispy Kreme original glazed was a jumpy, jittery 20-something girl who fell in line for 72 hours! The Krispy Kreme guy said she stayed there the whole time and leaves only for toilet breaks! So much for a swan life, I wish I could just do that, make tambay and fall in line for a year of fat-laden donuts. I heard she also was a first customer for some other KK branches.

I was quite cross, I hate being under the sun if I'm not at the beach, and I've no water with me. The paper hat didn't really serve it's purpose... So when I finally(!) reached the counter I wanted revenge from KK that I didnt order donuts. But I was so freaking thirsty I ordered a frozen blended coffee whatever, which didnt last me 3 minutes. They also gave me a maple-flavoured doughnut which I didnt eat,

So as a piece of advice to those who dream of getting the prized Krispy Kreme gift (heart attack) certificates
1. Beat the crazy girl and her 72-hour record if you can afford it
2. Fall in line like at 2 am
3. Bring water so you don't have to buy the chillatte. Bring an umbrella.
4. Bring someone who will waste time with you so you wouldn't feel so bad.

Hahahaha!
