Families with two or less children be prioritized in education, healthcare and social services

My stand on this issue is motivate people, not to depress people even more. To be able to say, wow, that's exactly what we need! We will prompt rewards--- which is perfect, to one side of the Filipino's very nature as being individualistic-- “What's in it for me?” “Will I benefit from that?” “What do I care?” And we think that this behavior has definitely influenced our response to government policies. Now is the time to give it a new approach.

By prioritizing families with 2 or less children, we can be assured of having 2 quality citizens per family, with our focus on 2 members being guaranteed tertiary education, opportunities for development, and physical and mental fitness.

For countless decades, we have tried so much as a to enforce a comprehensive family planning method, which to date, has not given a significant resolution. You don't have to look far to see the difference between the rich and the poor. All you need to do is to take a look at your own immediate relationships. More often than not, more affluent families have lesser children as compared to poor families, which has 4 or more. I can attest the case of my own family, whereas my two kids are lucky to be well-provided for: good upbringing, a nice house, proper nutrition, toys, education and medical attention. Whereas, compared to our yaya's family, which has 8 children, a deceased mother and a father who works as a tricycle driver, it's a stark comparison. 6 of them are supposed to be in school but are not, and the younger ones are picking up trash or “namamasura” to help out.

In short, parents with low or no income couldn't afford to send children to school because they couldn't even afford to feed the whole family. Another curious statistic is how come each batch in a public high school which starts with 30 sections or more for the first year, get reduced to an average of 14 sections by the time of graduation. Where did all the students go?

The numbers are depressing, but we can do something about it!

We should send a strong message to families and couples planning to get married, whose income are way below the poverty level to be really conscious and responsible. Filipinos are by nature God-fearing and value family profoundly, but money is something that we are not abundant of.

And we need money to live. The country’s average per capita income and labor productivity today are at the same levels as in the early 1980s.

It's time we shake things up a bit and stop using the tropical heat as an excuse to breed like rabbits. It's time we think about the rights of the child rather than the parent.

Fact is, we are the 13th world's most populous country, with an exceptionally higher population growth rate than China, India, Indonesia and Bangladesh. 37% of the people in this nation is under the age of 15. But this is just a speck of the vicious state our country is facing and sacrifices should be a 2-way street.

It is the right of every man to live on a cleaner environment, eat three times a day, and go to school. And poverty, is not a natural thing, it is what we bring on to ourselves as a people. In short, we are depriving children of the future, the right to live in a better environment, and be provided adequately.

We should change the preference for large family size, to a greater investment per child.

If this policy is backed by appropriate reforms in the economic and social sectors, we will have the best results. Investing on a people by quality, and not by mere quantity, will bring about the change we need most.

Population does matter. It matters to the question whether we want to stay in this trap, or get out of it. We need a consistent action program to break get out from this trap.

If you're thinking that only the middle-class can benefit from this policy, that's not the case.

Our focus is the poor. The strong bold numbers of the poor. We want our poor to be rewarded with a great benefit if they exercise discipline.

Our poor must be rewarded for responsibility.

Ouur poor must not resort to crimes to be able to provide for their family.

Our women must have the choice. To choose what's better for their health, to be educated as to not have unwanted or ill-timed pregnancies.

We must to motivate each and everyone to aide

We want our children to be the best they can be, with nothing in their way.

Will it work?

The main reason really is, irresponsible parenthood. Corruption, somehow, affects us but the main problem is within the parents. If the government of the Philippines is full of corruption, why would you still have babies? We already know that the world is miserable, but why bring out even more babies?

It will work. If we are able to implement a system such as the GSIS, senior citizen, and other government benefits, I don't see why not. This is no different that existing systems except for it needs a new agency to collaborate this altogether.
