GMA To Pardon Rolito Go for Being A Good Boy

Let me be good to my word as "President" Gloria Arroyo's detractor, the most unpopular president in Philippine history. She really delivers in taking her unpopularity to the next level. Today I learned that she is yet to release another high-profile convict, Rolito Go, convicted of killing a man over a road rage incident in Greenhills. Eldon Maguan was driving the one-way section of Wilson St after buying pizza to bring home to his family when Go's car went out of the old Craving's restaurant and started driving the wrong way.

It's interesting to see what money can do. On the onset of this case, most has been done to coverup for Go, from the blotter in Isabela that he lost his 9mm Sig Sau pistol. He escaped prison shortly after his conviction. When he got caught in Lubao, Pampanga, two years later, Go to bribe Supt. Roberto Damian and Supt. Jojie Cruz of the PNP Traffic Management Group, but the media's thirst for blood would have not made it possible. Now, when the fuzz has died down, the timing is just perfect for fairy godmother to grant little Rolito his freedom back.

15 years later, and 2 Presidents later, he's finally getting through to the rotting walls of Malacanang in his plea for executive clemency. Yup you got it, executive clemency, it's like the highest form of pardon straight from the throne of the highest position holder in the Banana Republic of the Philippines. Yup, she's letting him walk just like that.

According to his lawyer, who wrote in an article found here that he has been an exceptional prisoner, and has helped fellow inmates make a living, yada yada yada. And I don't believe a word this guy's saying. Spare us from your speech, of course you're his lawyer, your job is to defend him right? Sorry, I dont buy it.

I bet he's nearly wetting his pants in anticipation of his literal "Independence Day" on June 12.
